tscc.msc on Vista Ultimate?

I need to debug a connection failure between my two Vista Ultimate PCs on my

home network.

Remote Desktop won’t connect on my home network or through WHS, and I’m

pretty sure it’s not a firewall issue. I've followed all the usual steps to

properly configure firewall and port 3389 (even though I'm not behind one),

enable Remote Desktop, set authentication level, etc. QWINSTA reports the

TS service isn't running, even though it shows started in Management

Console/Services.

The exact error message is: “This computer cannot connect to the remote

computer. Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact the owner

of the remote computer or your network administrator.”

One of the expert websites I've read says this message indicates an RDP-TCP

binding problem on PCs with multiple network adapters (like mine), and this

can be resolved with tscc.msc. Unfortunately there’s no tscc.msc snap-in in

Vista Ultimate (that I can find). I’m sure there’s another way to do this

Vista, but don’t know what it is, nothing helpful in PSS KB.

Any/all suggestions are welcome.

tscc.msc only exists on server OS. You could just use the local system

policies via gpedit.msc.

RE: tscc.msc on Vista Ultimate?

Thanks for the response Patrick. I'm looking at gpedit.msc but don't see any

options that look like what I need, anything related to binding RDP to the

correct network adapter on my system. Any ideas on this?

RE: tscc.msc on Vista Ultimate?

This option is not available via GPO because the hardware on each server

could be different.

Re: tscc.msc on Vista Ultimate?

when you run qwinsta, do you see the "RDp-Tcp listen" entry in the output?
