Guest Kam Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 when I read the info from MS web site, the window 2003 std is able to handle 4Gb of RAM. but after I add in total of 4GB memory into my Laptop (IBM Thinkpad T650p), the window 2003 server can only read 3 gb of memory from the "about windows". Why?
Guest MrHusy Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 RE: memory upgrade problem Hi Kam First, make sure your Notebook hardware supports 4 GB RAM. Make sure you see 4GB of RAM initialized during POST process. Second, read the following http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283037 Regards -- MrHusy http://www.experts-exchange.com/M_3788926.html "Kam" wrote: > when I read the info from MS web site, the window 2003 std is able to handle > 4Gb of RAM. > but after I add in total of 4GB memory into my Laptop (IBM Thinkpad T650p), > the window 2003 server can only read 3 gb of memory from the "about windows". > > Why? >
