Hello,

I am planning on developing a lot of Word templates for a current project i'm working on but i'm very worried about compatability. I am writing my documents in Docx format and writing some default template text in the documents which will more than likley be changed by my users.

My software is going to perform a mail merge and fill the documents with data. My problem is this, can my software talk to the Docx document without having Word 2007 installed?

The vast majority of my clients are using Office 2000 and 2003 but I can install compatability packs on their machines so they can open the Docx file. Will they be able to edit the Docx file in Word 2000/2003?

Cheers,

Rob
