Hello folks, I apologize (of course) if this isn't the correct

group but I think some of you will be able to point me in the right

direction.

Problem: for 3 days now, Veritas reports "No media in Drive", "IO

error occured"

Possible solutions: Update driver, Check cable, turn on and off tape

machine.

Setup: DLT VS80 (Benchmark1) on SCSI cable (terminated via plug),

Server 2003 SP1 Std., Veritas 10.0

Observations: Server recognizes Benchmark1 in Device manager. In

Computer mngmnt/Removable storage/Libraries, the media is initialized

and catalogued (this tells me Server 2003 can "see" the tape?) This

has been in place for over 2 years and not been a problem.

1 change has occured: A new server was joined to the domain roughly

the same time period, not currently configured to be backed up by

Veritas (i think this is purely conincidental timing wise)

Things Ive done: turn off and on tape machine, updated driver (windows

update)

Things I'm going to do: Get another SCSI cable and terminating plug.

Anyone else have an idea?
