"Dangling" Printer

Sometimes, (and I can't find the commonality) a printer is left in the TS

print queue after the user logs off.

User A has 4 printers that are autocreated when logging in to the TS, only

one of them does not disappear after logoff.

Different users, different printers, not all the time.

What could make this happen.

Thanks.

Re: "Dangling" Printer

Have you checked the EventLog on the TS for any warnings or errors

when this happens? Can you post the EventIDs?

Re: "Dangling" Printer

The Event ID is an 1107: with the following message:

]]

The printer Brother Troy's on Taylor (from FIELD37) in session 8 could not

be deleted.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

]]

Thanks.

Re: "Dangling" Printer

Here's how to solve the problem:

Event ID 1107 — Terminal Services Printer Redirection

http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/library/bcf7a330

-c9ea-4aee-b611-2060eb01d4921033.mspx?mfr=true

So you installed the Brother printer driver on the server? Are you

sure that it is TS compatible? Most 3rd party printer drivers are

not.

Maybe there was still a document in the queue for this printer? Or

the spooler had crashed?
