Probably not. Or not without spending a small fortune on recovery

software.

No.

If you want to graduata, keep your mind on what you're doing, not on your

handbag fetish.

You could always commit suicide.

I don't think there are any other options.

But it was true. The OP needed a solution to her having deleted/over

written a file on a flash drive NOW that she needed TOMORROW.

Re: help!!

go here: http://www.runtime.org

down load the "GetDataBack" version for the disk format you are using.

This is a full function trial that will find the overwritten file if the

replacement was put in a different spot on the drive (windows is sloppy, it

rarely puts things back where it found them) and display it for you. It will

even let you view the contents of the file, but not save it back to your HD.

So, all you have to do is select and copy the text and paste it back into

your word processing app. If you want to be honest you can buy a license for

about $70.

Believe me this program is worth it.

How does it work? well it reads all of the binary code on the drive and

writes it to a temp file, then it recompiles it as individual formatted

files. On something small like a flash drive it shouldn't take to long. On a

large HD that has gone bad, 2-3 days.

Good luck

Jeff

Don't post binaries in a text newsgroup. I didn't want your crappy

picture on my hard drive

Microsoft allows the posting of attachments. Attachments can be posted up to ~75KB.

This is NOT the alt.* hierarchy. This is the microsoft.* hierarchy. Please understand the

rules are different for different hierarchies.

If you don't want the GIF file, then don't save it to your hard disk.

Possibly.

Usually Windows writes a newer version of a file in a vacant spot then dinks

the directory entry for the original. In other words, the original isn't

gone until the new file is written.

Scrounge around for "file undelete utilities" or look in the Recycle Bin.

It's bad practice to keep valuable stuff on a memory stick. These gizmos are

notoriously unreliable and should be used for copies of things, not the

things themselves.
