I really think that giving students free stuff is the best thing that Microsoft could do for their business. University classes use whatever they can provide to students for free and making Microsoft's best stuff free for students will ensure more university classes use it, creating new generations of developers that are reliant on Microsoft software, as once someone has used Visual Studio to develop something, he is not going back to whatever he used before it.

 

Why did Microsoft not do this sooner?
