Guest Rick Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Hi, ALL: We have a Win2003 network, a parent domain with 20 child domains. Now, one of our child domain's two domain controllers are failing (getting old). We bought a new server, trying to replace the old servers. What is the best way to proceed it? Where can i find some guidance? Thanks for your response...
Guest Danny Sanders Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Re: promote a new DC Add the new server to the domain as a member server then run dcpromo. Then setup DNS to your network standards, and make it a global catalog if necessary. hth DDS "Rick" <Rick@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:448593BA-03AB-4EA0-97F4-978949C4A3F6@microsoft.com... > Hi, ALL: > We have a Win2003 network, a parent domain with 20 child domains.
