Hello, I was thinking of buying the Nvidia Geforce 9800 GTX+ GeForce 9800 GTX+: a graphics card for full-throttle gameplay with SLI compatibility and PhysX technology.

I was told only the motherboard was relevant and i currently have this board

Board: Packard Bell BV MCP73PVT-PM 1.0

Running on vista home premium, 4Gb's of Ram, With only 3Gb registered thanks to vista.

Anyway will this card be compatible? If so, would two be compatible and worth it?

Thanks.

Hi

As long as the motherboard has got 1 PCI Express 16X, 1 card should work.

If the motherboard has 2 PCI Express 16X slots it will work if the motherboard supports SLI.

What is the model no of your Packard Bell or Name of the computer.

The 9800GTX is not as good price vs performance as the likes of a 260GTX, but as previously mentioned these cards are huge and you need to check they will fit in your case and that the PSU can handle it (both from a connections point of view 1 6pin PCI-E and another 6/8pin PCI-E and a Wattage point)

Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)

Asus P5K premium black pearl

4GB OCZ Reaper 8500

260GTX

How big exactly is the card? I was also told to by Newegg.com - Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies For the PSU, But i dont know how many volts my current PSU is giving and if its enough.

Also my model number is PTU030X001838058649000

Atleast i think thats it.

The card is not much shorter than a foot long.

If you open the side of your PC - it will say on the side of the PSU what Wattage it is, you may not need a new one, depending on what you have in the PC
