preferences revert after shutdown

[Guest Paul Pedersen]

I have a machine that loses several preferences after a shutdown and

restart. Examples are screen resolution, IE window size, and some

application preferences.

 

The settings survive a warm reboot, but not a complete shutdown.

 

Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
