nick Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I regularly seem to get a particular error message popping up when browsing sites. I have noticed it quite a bit whilst i am on Facebook but also on other sites. A box comes up. There is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. It says, 'An Error has occured in the script on this page Unexpected call to method or property access Do you want to contunue running scriupts on this page? Yes No' What is the reason behind this and is there anyway i can stop this from happening as it can get quite repetitive and annoying? Nick Quote
maynardvdm Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Hi What browser are you using? Have you tried a different browser to see if you still get that error. It could also be malware (small chance). Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. RandyL Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 It kind of sounds like the "Display a notification about every script error" is ticked in the Advanced options of the Internet Properties in IE. That can get quite annoying. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. nick Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 Error Message BT Yahoo! Browser Product Version 5.04.04.809 File Version 2006.10.18.11 BT Yahoo! Broadband Version 2.01 Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180 Does this help? nick Quote
Seamus Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Seems that your Internet Explorer version is outdated, you should currently be using at least 8.0, however if I was you I'd use Mozilla Firefox, I've had no errors using this browser. If you really want to stay with your BT Yahoo! Browser you can check your browsers security settings to see if high security settings are on, as I have very high security seetings on Internet Explorer and becuase of this; everytime an embedded flash player is executed say within YouTube, the browser asks for conformation to play the content. To avoid errors like this you can uncheck various high security settings to a medium level. Quote
Tootech Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Run Windows Update, get your system and your browser up to date and see how it looks. Quote

RandyL Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 It might be worth looking at Yahoo to see if they have a newer version of the branded Internet Explorer. Unfortunately I can't look because only those with Yahoo as an ISP can. Install or Re-install BT Yahoo! Internet Software Quote We are all members helping other members. Plastic Nev Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 You could also follow the suggestion from Seamus and install Firefox. In most peoples opinion Firefox is a much better browser. Have a look at their site first and decide if you want to try. You will be pleasantly surprised I hope.
