Guest scootercuder Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I bought a new hard drive tried to install it I had two in already I put it in the place of my secondary drive booted up did not recognized it as primary but did not recognize my primary from before so would not bootup. tied each one seperatly did not recoognize any by selves or with new one in has me confused called seagate they tried different things finally told me they could not help.

Did you jumper the drive properly to be Master/Slave/CS? Did you partition/format the drive? Is the drive recognized by the BIOS? Are you using an 80wire/40 pin data cable? -- Brian A.
