Guest S Sainsbury Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I have setup a PKI on a windows 2003 domain. I am testing the key recovery before rolling out PKI to users but am having difficulty. I encrypted a file called test.txt which was located on a network share (delegation setup) After encrypting the file I checked the details and it showed as "Administrator" being set as the recovery agent. I then logged onto the file server where the file resides and attempted to access it, my assumption being that as I was logging on as administrator who has been set as the recovery agent I would be able to decrypt the file, unfortunatly it failed with "access denied". Am I missing something simple here? Any helps greatly appreciated.
Guest S Sainsbury Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 RE: EFS File recovery I managed to resolve this, I re-created the certificate templates and reissued certificates then it started to work, not sure why it didnt first time round.
