jacob777 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I am new to PC gaming. The only thing I have really ever played was Quake and Doom a long time ago. I am now wanting to find a graphix card that is compatible with my PC and one that is not really expensive. I would mainly be playing First person shooter games. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it. I recently bought fear perseus mandate and it crashes while trying to set it up and I have 2 Gigs of Ram and that is the max on my PC. I ran Dxdiag and attached the info. Quote
maynardvdm Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Hi What motherboard do you have? It is not listed in the document you supplied. Or the make and model of the computer? Dalo Harkin Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 your using a 128M GPU (which is not ideal for most modern games) as Maynard has said we need to know what the MOBO make and model is before we can make any recommendations. Your screen size was also stating 1600x1200 again your GPU cannot handle this at present so you would need to run at a much smaller res 1024x768 for now (that should help with the crashes) Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
jacob777 Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 (edited) Thank you for the reply! Ok I ran the Belarc Advisor tool. Here is all of the spec's for my computer. I hope this helps. The computer was serviced by a guy that had to replace a lot of things on it to make it work again. Thanks again for helping. Dalo Harkin Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Ok, the MOBO does have a PCI-E slot so as long as you get a PCI-E card you will be fine, so it all depends on your budget The below are what I would recommend:- £80 250GTS good card for most older games and most modern ones on low settings £100 260GTX great card for a 20-22" monitor will play pretty much every game new and old at mid-high settings.
