chdisk always runs at startup

I enabled the error check (chdisk) on my c-drive to run on boot-up. No bad

sectors were found. Unfortunately, chdisk now continues to run each time I

boot-up. The computer will not allow a "defrag" because "ckdisk/f needs to

run first". Any suggestions?
