Boot manager, XP and Xandros

Hello

I installed a 30 day trial of Xandros (sililar to Linux) and it introduced a

dual boot somewhere in the system

Once the 30 day period over, I want to go back to XP by itself and wipe

clean my second drive where Xandros was installed.

But I'm worried that sth will go wrong at this moment and I'll lose access

to Windows

Ive looked at my Windows boot configuration and surprisingly, Xandros isn't

there.

Any ideas where it might be and what would happen if I simply erase the

second drive and Xandros without further ado?

Thanks

It seems to me that if Xandros introduced a dual boot somewhere in the system,

you should contact their tech support for help with its removal.

Re: Boot manager, XP and Xandros

Post the contents of your "boot.ini" file.

PS "boot.ini" will be hidden file, so use Folder Options to show hidden and system files.

Most likely a line in the "boot.ini" file needs to be changed.

Some one here will have the answer.

Xandros IS "Linux"....

Boot from your XP CD, choose "repair console" and do fixmbr at the prompt.

That will get rid of Grub.

That's correct!

And to delete the partitions where Xandros is installed

you will be safe if you use disk management from within Windows.

BTW: If you do want to go with Linux again...

I suggest PCLinuxOS. It's free, and it works better than Xandros
