azz Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 my pc doesnt run any new things i connect to it through my usb ports. i can use my two pen drives that i have had for about a year, my old ipod and other things i that i havent recently bought (printer, mouse etc) but it wont recognise my external hard drive, my new pen drive or my ipod touch all which i have bought within the last week, whenever i connect them the found new hardware wizard comes up like i need software for them but none of them need software. i have tried using them all on other computers and they work so it isnt the products themselves its something to do with my pc. does anybody know why this is? Gibby1313 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Hi there. Sounds to me that your issue IS a driver issue, your new devices don't need the drivers but windows does. Anything that you Purchase new today wont be recognized by Windows XP and a driver will need to be located for it. You can usually get these drivers from the manufacturers websites or from Microsoft itself. If you post the Model #s of what you are trying to hook up to your computer someone might be able to help you find the drivers/info you need Hope it helps and good luck :D Quote
azz Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 well i have a "seagate" external desktop hardrive 500gb and an ipod touch, surely itunes should recognise my ipod touch, my pc recognises my ipod and the new hardware wizard appears, but it doesnt come up on itunes and i have the latest version of itunes Quote
