sound not availible

Whenever I want to play a piece of audio, I have one of two problems.

1. It plays but I can not hear anything although the speakers are

plugged in and I can hear the Windows sounds (eg. asterisk, log on,

shut down, little notification bubble down at bottom). Then I bring up

the volume control and it says there is no audio hardware installed and

I need to install some (it already is).

2. A message comes up saying "Failed to initialize Direct Music Audio."

. Then it just closes it.

Thanks for any help

RE: sound not availible

looks like your sound drivers got corrupted and need to be reinstalled, I

suggest, you uninstall the drivers first and reboot, before attempting to

reinstall.

be sure you have the correct drivers before doing the uninstall.
