Hey All,

Just a question, i've got a few*little hackers hacking away at my SQL Server running on my dedicated server so I have a lot of entries simular to the entry below, just copied this from the event log the thing is what the guy don't know is that 5 bad login attempts it will deny logins to that* IP for 15 minutes but hes still sending his requests.

Anyway the question, I need SQL Server opening upto me via a VPN tunnel i've configured an IP Policy to block SQL Server to remote connection (port 1433) but I can still connect without going through VPN, is their something i'm missing? How secure is SQL server facing the internet anybody got any stories? Please feel free to give the below IP a DoS attack because he's been going for about 4 hours and starting to get on my nerves!

Login failed for user 'sa'. [CLIENT: 209.51.201.242]

Cheers,

Rob
