Can anyone tell me if it is possible to run a program from DOS Command screen? and if so how

Yip, its not pure DOS anymore, but is the same for most circumstances.

 

Click Start, then type cmd and press Enter

 

That gives you a command prompt - looks like a DOS box, then you can run your program from there.

 

On Vista, you might need admin privelidges, so when you type cmd look up the start menu to find the command prompt, right click over it and select "Run as Administrator"
