Guest TheScullster Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Hi all Why would I get a permissions error when browsing to some PCs on the network and not others? Via Entire Network-MS Windows Network, I can generally see printers available on each PC and also access the admin share C$. I am domain admin on WindowsServer2003 with XP clients. TIA Phil
Guest Marcin Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Re: Cannot Browse to Certain PCs Access to admin shares is restricted to members of local Administrators group on the local computer. While Domain Admins global group is automatically added to local Administrators when the computer joins the domain, it is possible to remove it afterwards. Have you confirmed that this is not the case? hth Marcin

Strangest thing, the PC is on the network (Win2003 server domain) but I can't access it or even ping it! Any more ideas? TIA Phil
