Hi

 

got a new laptop for xmas and i downloaded avg & superantispyware ran the superantispyware & it found 3 trojan horse. now i followed the process and it said all was removed. now i have ran 20 different scan and it says my pc is clear. how can i be 100 % that the virus is gone im scared to use it just in case. can i go in to my pc and search another way. i did ask for advice on another site but some ab riduculous replies.

 

ive used superantispyware for years and love it it picks up the virus that AVG missed. and norton

Nothing is 100% and you have taken reasonable steps to secure your new machine. In the quote above you mention both AVG and Norton. The one thing you cannot do is use two real time antivirus programs. It is not a question of having them both installed but only one should be activly scanning your computer. There is nothing wrong with running SUPERantispyware along with an AV program however I am guessing that you are using the free version which is good but does not provide real time scanning. I would also consider running an additional antimalware program such as Malwarebytes.

 

Just turn off one of those AV programs.
