I'm working on a friend computer. He told me that his screen would not

turn on. So i told him that i would take a look at it and had him go and

buy a new video card. Take it home and put the new card in. It still not

turning on. Any other thing i can check or do? can any one help?

RE: Blank Screen

As in the minitor fails to produce a picture....Try unplugging pc & monitor,

with pc power unplugged, remove battery for 2 minutes or so (optional to

locate

the CMOS jumper pin on the board & move from 1-2 position to 2-3 position),

then back to 1-2,reinstall battery, start pc.You'll need to reset the basic

BIOS

settings on restart date/time,etc, before the OS will load.Hopefully you get

that far..Worse comes to worse, try using another monitor or use the tv via

vcr or cable jacks (RCA or S-Video)..

RE: Blank Screen

are you certain the pc is booting? does it beep? if a good boot occurs it

should beep once, if no sounds at all, verify your powersupply is working,

and a boot is occuring, it could be bad RAM or failed power supply, or a

bunch of other things.
