Any way to turn off the Customized Folders views in Vista?

Is there any way to have Vista default to just one folder view for all folders?* I tried setting it via the traditional Folder properties->Apply to All Folders, but randomly, it'll go back to a clunky view, and then I have to reset it again.

 

And some folders don't have that Customize tab, so I can't set the folder view default.* It gets annoying when I'm browsing the folders in details view, and go to my CD drive, and it brings up a grouped by type, and large icons.* Then when I change it back to details, and put in a new CD, it's back to the grouped large icons view.* I tried to uncheck the "Save individual folder settings" checkbox hoping that it'll use a default for everything, but it always insists on changing the view to what it thinks is best, even though I did a "Apply to All Folders".

 

Very annoying.
