Hi,

When attempting to install the drivers for a USB ADSL modem I get

*error loading newdev.dll*.

Here's what I've done so far -

removed the newdev.dll from System32 and replaced it with another I

downloaded - didn't work

Downloaded the SP2 from MS - installed, rebooted - that didn't work

either.

Searched MS site for specific issue - no go.

Searched Google - lots of hits nothing viable.

As of this writing my new PC is sitting on my dest unused and

functioning mainly as a planter. A very nice and powerful planter.

Can someone :please: help me resolve this issue?

Thank you so much.

jj

As with most USB devices, the drivers need to be installed prior to

connecting the USB device. Do you install the drivers before

connecting this modem onto your PC?

The error message happens when trying to install the drivers.

Have you checke on the "device" manufacturer's support web site so as

to see if they have an alternate install method or revised drivers?
