Are local printers cached on the Terminal Server?

Recommended Posts

I have a user that logs into the TS from computerA, in his session he gets

his local printer as normal, an HP Deskjet xxx. But, if he logs into ANY

other computer and starts a TS session to the same server, he still gets as

his local printer, the HP Deskjet xxx from ComputerA.

Where is that coming from? Is it cached somehow on the Terminal Server?

Thanks

RE: Are local printers cached on the Terminal Server?

Hi John

The Terminal Server caches the local printers for a given time periode, so

if the same user logs on to the TS within that time periode the printers will

still be available.

I am not quit sure how to change the cache periode because we don't allow

local printers to be used with our own TS. I can't see any settings in the TS

Configuration Manager so it might be a Group Policy setting.

If anyone else knows how to change the cache period, please chime in.

Thanks
