Guest Jim Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Hello, I have an old Server 2003 domain controller that I want to replace with a new machine. This old server contains most of the AD printers that are used in the company and I'd like to be able to move all of them to the new server without having to manually recreate them all. I've seen the Microsoft Print Migrator 3.1 but it looks quite old. Can anyone tell me the preferred (read bullet proof) method of performing this AD printer migration to a new DC? Thanks

Guest Jim Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Re: Decommission old Domain Controller Yes, that's that one I was talking about but I saw the 2004 date on it and wondered if someone hadn't come up with a better mousetrap in the last 4 years. Is this still the best method? Guest Hank Arnold (MVP) Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Re: Decommission old Domain Controller Still works great. I just used it to move printers form a W2K server to a W2K03 server with minimal problems. I also use it to back up the printers for Disaster Recovery.... -- Regards, Hank Arnold Microsoft MVP Windows Server - Directory Services Jim wrote: > Yes, that's that one I was talking about but I saw the 2004 date on it > and wondered if someone hadn't come up with a better mousetrap in the > last 4 years. > > Is this still the best method? > > Jim > > > "Meinolf Weber" <meiweb(nospam)@gmx.de> wrote in message > news:ff16fb668b55e8ca46dfa40e00f2@msnews.microsoft.com... >> Hello Jim, >> >> Did you find this one: >> http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsServer2003/techinfo/overview/printmigrator3.1.mspx >> >> >> Best regards >> >> Meinolf Weber >> Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and >> confers no rights. >> ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups >> ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm >> >>> Hello, I have an old Server 2003 domain controller that I want to >>> replace with a new machine. >>> >>> This old server contains most of the AD printers that are used in the >>> company and I'd like to be able to move all of them to the new server >>> without having to manually recreate them all.
