killed my UPnP in Vista

i was attempting to write a program that would use UPnP API in windows to set port forwarding in the home router for mIRC to get the DCC function to work.* after sever times i got an authentication/impersonation error that i could not work out i gave up on it for now. but now my UPnP in vista no longer can see any UPnP devices on my network. the media center PC can still see everything. does anyone know how to reset the UPnP support in vista? turning off network discovery in the network center and turning it back on does not help.
