upgrade time

so I checked at wintel they list this as "best" system:

so - if i have a 3.6 ghz - why should i go down to a 2.4 ghz?

I see it's dual core - but ive been duped by that before (dual Pentium Pro's)

 

or should I look to AMD (for the first time)

 

Basically - I want the fastest thing i can get

 

* im also looking for a monitor - equivilant to apples largest*cinema *display - but hopefully not price wise.. if anyone has any suggestions...
