Guest james Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 We are having Issues with the Windows Print Spooler dying in the System Event Viewer we see some Event ID: 23 Source: System saying Printer printer1 failed to initialize because a suitable HP LaserJet 9000 PCL 6 driver could not be found. Printer printer2 failed to initialize because a suitable HP LaserJet 5 driver could not be found. Printer printer3 failed to initialize because a suitable HP LaserJet 5 driver could not be found. These are NOT in our Windows Printers anymore, I believe we deleted these a while back but its complaining that the driver is no longer there. What I did see is that its still in the Registry under: [HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Print\Printers\Printer1 .. 2 .. 3 etc So it must be seeing these registry keys from there and trying to load them up but CANT due to the driver not being there so then you dont see them when you click on Start, Settings, Printers ? Is that true? Whats the best method of fixing this? going into Start,Settings, Printers, Server Properties and adding those drivers back in or deleting those printers from the registry and readding the printers? Thanks
