Hi,

I'm running XP Pro and Windows 2007 Pro.

I just had a virus removed from my PC.

A couple of days ago, I booted up and nothing appeared on my monitor, even though the PC was running. I re-booted and the same again. I left it till the evening and tried again. This time the monitor came on and the PC was running ok.

I decided to run a scan using AVG free version and it locked up. I rebooted and tried again using Antivir. It locked up again. I re-booted again and tried AVG again. This time it ran to the end and found no infections. So I ran Antivir again and this had the same results.

I opened my emails and tried to send a mail. It locked up again. I rebooted again and triend again. This time I was able to send my mail before it locked up again. I went into explorer and it locked up, 3 times!

Then I rebooted again and it ran for a couple of minutes before it rebooted itself. By this time I'd had enough.

When I booted up the following morning, nothing on the monitor again!

Someone please tell me what's happening. This PC has been virtually rebult over the last year to 18 months, including a brand new monitor and I can't keep on spending money on it, I just don't have it spend.

Thanks guys!

Peer!

It sounds to me like you might be still be infected on the computer. Seeing as you first seemed to think the monitor was the main issue have you tried connecting your monitor to another computer and checking to make sure it still works. Just to rule it out.

Another thing does the computer make any sound or do anything unusual when it decides to go blank on you or reboot?
