Guest Jack B. Pollack Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I just enabled "Shadow Copies" for one of my drives on Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. The drive is partitioned in half with D shadowing to E. E drive has 40GB Free I have set a limit of 10GB to be used for ShadowCopy I have let ShadowCopy run for a few days and I do see a list of previous backups. I have also successfully restored several random files to an alternate location. Two thing concern me: 1. The free space reported for drive E has not changed (I checked it before enabling ShadowCopy and now several days later and it is the same) although the ShadowCopy tab does report 397MB used. 2. The scheduled tasks log reports: "Volume Shadow Copy.job" (vssadmin.exe) 2/27/2008 3:00:01 PM ** WARNING ** Invalid working directory.. The specific error is: 0x00000003: The system cannot find the path specified. Verify that the directory exists and try again. "Volume Shadow Copy.job" (vssadmin.exe) Started 2/27/2008 3:00:01 PM "Volume Shadow Copy.job" (vssadmin.exe) Finished 2/27/2008 3:00:09 PM Result: The task completed with an exit code of (0). Nothing is logged in the event viewer (system or application logs)
