try checking the time ZONE. You are posting from the future....

Sys Time Resets on Reboot

 

I had to reinstall XP a couple of days ago. Yesterday and today I find

that when I boot the system clock is 5hrs. off of Eastern Std. time. EST

is what I selected for my clock. EST is 5 hrs. off GMT. So, the system

clock resets itself to GMT every time I reboot. Of course, I have been

correcting the clock after bootup, but as I've said, the clock resets

itself.

 

What's causing this?

Ah. if you are running Linux as a dual boot, then it f***s up the Windows

time. At least it always did with me.

 

BTW, there IS something wrong with your clock...your post has come through

with the time of 29th Feb at 2.32 am.

The time zone is set to NY, or EST (GMT + 5) Having done a Win install

about 50,000 times over the last 15 yrs., well, I know how to set the

TZ. :) It's something else. I'm running Linux too as dual-boot sys.

Linux has the time correct, so I know it's not the BIOS or battery.
