Newbie problrms with Office 2007.

I am an old Office user. But when it comes to office 2007, I'm sunk. How

do you print from it? How do you eliminate the horizontal lines when you do

print?

This would be better if asked in one of the Office newgroups.

Word 2007 works just like any older versions of Word. Instead of

having a "simple" meun bar and separate tool bar, MS made a "menu bar"

that changes when you select a section.

But where is the Print Command? I need step by step instructions.

Or the other round "thingie" in the upper right-hand corner (the one with

the question mark).

If you can't play nice with the other kids in usenet, get off the computer

and let the grownups use the Internet.

To Don J: That said, the other replies that directed you to the MS Office

newsgroups are correct. This is a group for Windows XP issues and isn't the

place to post Office questions. Additionally, it is alway good to look in

the application's Help menu, as well as searching on the web, before you

post.

How about the standard key command, Ctrl-P? What horizontal lines are

you speaking of, page breaks?

Ain't gonna happen bucko. Been here for 14 years and I HATE folks who

install a program and immediately go online asking for OTHERS to do

their work for them without having shown any sign that they've even

TRIED to help themselves.

This bozo appears to be a prime example of that kind of poster.

BTW... you may think I'm acting like a child - and I might be - but

I'm 64. I've put my time in. I do it my way - unabashedly.

There are killfiles for those of you with weak constitutions.

<sigh, again>

I know very well how to killfile, my friend. And if you're truly the age you

claim, you ought to know better than to reply to a message if you have no

intention of even trying to direct the OP to the correct group or instruct

him re technique. It's incredibly rude - everyone is new at something once.

Don't bother replying at all if you're just working through 14 years' worth

of repressed anger....simply move on.

Horizontal lines when you print are either caused by the printer software

/drivers or the printer failing

The "43" is short for 1943, the year I was born.

Save the psychiatric evaluation for those qualified to make such an

evaluation... and simply move on.

I'm staying here until I make the move - if ever - to Vista.

Press the Office Button - the one in the upper left hand corner

This will bring down a menu which, among other things, has the Print command

hidden in plain sight.

As for horizontal lines, I can't say. My output has none of that stuff.

PD43:

Wow. Are you really 64?

At your age, you're supposed to be someone that I look up to and respect --

a wise elder who can help show the way to a younger generation.

But your treatment of DonJ is shocking and unkind.

Perhaps you have learnt in all those years that you can get attention by

acting this way. (Just look at the reaction you got on this post). But I

don't think it is a good kind of attention you are getting -- at least it's

not the attention I want to be getting from people when I'm 64.

Some say that if someone is this way when they are your age, they will never

change. But I think anyone can change, and learn from others, no matter what

age (if they want to).

Well, perhaps in the dwindling twilight of your remaining years you will
