Printer wont work with networked laptop

I have a desktop that is connected to a printer using a usb cord. It runs

Windows XP Home Edition. The printer works fine. My laptop is Windows Vista

and it shows the desktop computer and I can access files on it like it is

supposed to work. When you click on the printer though it says CANNOT

CONNECT, ACCESS IS DENIED. I have the printer set up for sharing, but the

laptop keeps saying this when you click on the printer icon in the desktops

folder. Any ideas?

Thanks

Your Vista is broken? Perhaps ask the folks in the Vista group?

Re: Printer wont work with networked laptop

I was thinking the printer permissions needed redone on the xp machine since

it is the one that is hardwired to the printer. But it is xp home edition

and I dont know how to do it, since in Safe mode it doesnt load the printer

info.
