Windows Administrator Paswword

I have created a Slipstream XP/SP2 Bootable CD ROM to repair a corrupted

computer. When I boot from the CD and specify I want to do a repair, the

system asks me for an Administrator Password. I do not know it nor does

anyone else in the organization. I removed a Password Jumper as suggested in

the Dell Manual which is supposed to erase any passwords. That does not work.

Does anyone know how to get around this password requirement?

Thanks.

You hit the R key too early in the process and wound up in the Recovery Console.

Restart the computer, boot from the CD, and hit the Enter key when asked if you

want to install Windows XP. Accept the license agreement. Windows will now look

for any existing XP installations. Select the installation you want to repair.

This is when you hit the R key.

Take a look here for more info.

download this guide:

http://www.conejonetwork.com/upg.pdf

when you get to page 4, at the boot:

type ntpass and press enter.

accept all the defaults and follow the instructions to reset your

password.

You could also follow this link:

Also you are confusing the BIOS password and XP password.

Jumpers reset the password on the board

You want to reset your computer password.
