trouble loading websites (server not found)

hello,

anyone ever have a problem connecting to websites that used to work?

things like ebay, hydrofarm, netflix, etc. all these websites used to

work fine, but just lately they don't. i use firefox but i tried IE too

and it did the same thing. i keep getting the error, "server not

found." netflix loads, but its not loading right. hydrofarm hasn't been

working for a week or two and ebay was ok the other day but not today!

i checked with my isp, and they said my connection is fine. i cleared

the caches, temp files, and cookies, but it didn't help. i asked other

people to try the websites too, and they had no problems.

i ran all my security programs.....and everything is fine. i haven't

installed much lately except the new adware and a works converter

program, but the trouble doesn't seem to really correspond with these

changes.

Use System Restore to restore back to a restore point prior to when you

first noticed the issue and see if things improve. You can always reverse a

system restore point.

Re: trouble loading websites (server not found)

hi colin,

i did try a few restores. the last one caused firefox to act weird then

crash!! and the website trouble is all still there. this all seems

very strange to me. i also tried this:

flushed the dns cache

tried IP addresses (that got one page in netgrocer.com to work but none

of the other netgrocer pages worked)

turned off the security programs

nothing is making a difference! any other ideas? thanks.

Open Internet Options, General tab, click the "Clear History" button and

see if that helps.

Or:

Internet Explorer stops responding, stops working, or restarts:
