Computer hanging up

The cursor has a 1 second delay (or pause) at times. Also iTunes and

Windows Media Player have the same problem. They will hesitate or pause for

1 second intervals. The same is true when playing a DVD in the internal DVD

player. However, when I play a DVD in the external DVD player that is

connected to the USB port I have no problem.
