Guest DW Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 I am looking to attach an eSata DVD burner to my server to use strictly for data backups. Is DVD burning built into Windows 2003? If not, would software is recommended? I will be doing only basic data backups and don't want to take a chance that the DVD burning software will cause problems with my system. Many thanks.

I wouldn't do this on a server. It's not a good medium for automated backups. External hard drives are fine - but NTBackup won't write to a DVD, and I'm not sure about third party backup software (expect not).
