IE7 on my machine will not open any direct*links to MP3 or WAV files.

 

Instead of playing the file via whatever registered plugin, I get:

 

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

 

Most likely causes:

 

  • <li id=causeNotConnected>You are not connected to the Internet. <li id=causeSiteProblem>The website is encountering problems.
  • There might be a typing error in the address.

But if*I try the same links in Firefox, all is good in the world...

Has IE been purposefully mp3 handicapped, or is something screwy with my system.

 

Try for yourself, see if this link works in IE7...
