Microsoft WorldWide Telescope, Silverlight marketing

Some questions and comments.

 

1) What made Scoble cry over this rather than the Google implementation year ago?

 

2) I'd really rather see MS stop pushing Silverlight at your face in Microsoft.com (download center and whatever) and encourage installs*in things like this which would give the tech more positive than negative image by the way of making you want to install it rather than force it down your throat.

 

However,*if you go to the http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/*it says "This content requires the Adobe Flash Player ..."

 

So instead of a good opportunity to market SL they chose to market Adobe Flash! I feel SL will have a long and bumpy road ahead given the way it's used/marketed in all the wrong places where it a) offers no key advantages/has disadvantages*over more suitable technology (videos, download center etc) b) lack of use where it offers advantages (ms web casts etc) c) bad implementation of the down your throat method - use automatic updates if you must, not some popup at microsoft.com.
