Mac saving to Server and including characters not allowed by windows.

I have Mac users who save to our Windows 2000 file server. They are saving

things with file names that Windows will allow you to save but won't allow

you to do anything with (If I try and open the file it says file can't be

found. I can't rename the file or move the file.)

 

Is there any way to prevent the Mac users in the future from saving with

invalid characters? (One of the offending characters is a funky f that has

an Ascii code of 408.)
