Files Download Screen Does Not Appear after Clicking Dowload Hyper

I have a friend using Windows XP. She is trying to download a file by

clicking on a hyperlink. The Files Download screen simply does not appear.

She is left-clicking once, and has checked to make sure the window isn't

hidden underneath other windows, so it's not that. She has diabled her

av/firewall software (McAfee) and has reduced her IE Security level down to

medium-low, as has allowed pop ups, but still she cannot get the Files

Download window to appear. Any thoughts on how we can get the Files Download

window to appear, so she can download the needed files?
