Eraser;

A 1-pass psydorandom is enough for normal use (protection against

undelete apps) unless there's actually the chance that someone's going

to disassemble your hard drive and do a very detailed analysis. A 7 or

35 pass will normally just waste time.

 

There's also a portable version which is handy to keep on a USB drive:
