Event log empty and can not start & stop the service

[Guest DD]

I have windows 2k server running sp4 , it is standalone server .

 

I can't stop the event log service.the stop option is dimm. and the 3 event

logs (application, system, security) are empty. Also can't delete the log ,

log the used.

 

 

Pls help. recently some problem on the server and can't seee the event log,

do know what is happening now on the system.
