Hi

Been trying out Audacity which seems to be a crackin program.

Only thing is can get it to work on my vista and Xp pcs but not on my new Win7 one :(

( well can get it to record when connecting output to input with a loop but then cant hear what im recording )

Havent any sound cards on any of pcs , but Win7 one only has very basic controls where as Vista (Dell ) has Realtek mixer. Does this come linked with the on board sound and wonder if this is what helps give the signal.

Any help or advice would be great.

Cheers Kev

Have found a couple of things:

After win7 upgrade only has basic MS sound drivers so needs ASUS P5QL mobo sound driver which i am hoping includes some software to give a stereo mix option , the Onboard sound is VIA VT 1708S .

ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

I have downloaded the Driver Zip file from ASUS , i go inside and am not sure what to click on to install. There are hotfix files and no hotfix files too ??

Could someone give me a clue as to what to start with in the which file

Thanks Kev

Fixed it with a little help from PC Specialist .

To allow thesetup to work had to create a new folder and drag all files into it to unzip it basically then it worked a treat , got the stereo mix option straight away and even got my front headphone / mic sockets workin too.

Also the VIA HD audio deck seems handy too :D

Hi Kev, glad you managed to sort it, these things are quite often only a matter of getting the right drivers installed anyway, which you have found. Well done mate and we know now what to do should someone else have similar problems.
