Re: error messages on boot up

We need exact copies of the Error Reports to help.

What is the Report on the problem in Event Viewer?

Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in

the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for the last boot. No

Information Reports or Duplicates please. Indicate which also appear in

a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,

Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double

click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a

button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event

Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of

the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from

Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

You are only interested in the System and Application log. Click on

System to open the log and do the same for the Application log.

Re: error messages on boot up

I must be dumb, for i don't know what i am looking for. I guess i will try to

figure it out. I don't understand what you are asking for. There is a whole

page on the system file and also on the app;ication file.

Re: error messages on boot up

Gene

Each entry on the page has a date and time. You know the date and the

time when you last booted the computer. Make sure the list is sorted in

date and time order with the most recent at the top. You may need to

resort the list by clicking on the column header once or twice to get

them in the right order. You are only interested in those occurring

since booting.

Secondly you are only interested in Error and Warning Reports. Disregard

the majority, which should be Information Reports. Open each Error and

Warning Report in turn and copy and paste the result into your reply to

this post. Follow the precise instructions in my tip carefully.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double

click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a

button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event

Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of

the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from

Event Viewer.
