Windows XP Install loop. Problem installing on new PC

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I'm helping a friend of mine build his PC. We're now at the point

of installing Windows XP, an OEM version. This is how it goes for us.

We make the PC boot from the CD.

Put the Windows XP CD in the DVD drive.

Get to the blue "To set up windows, press enter." screen.

We press enter.

The computer than reboots and goes through the same process.

We can't get the License Agreement page. It keep going through the same loop

over and over again. The Motherboard is an ASUS P5K, with an Intel Core Duo.

The HDD is a Western Digital 500gb SATA HD. I've tried formating it with my

PC using the Disk Management utility. I've tried so many different thing, but

to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing I would try is to swap/change memory. Second, try CD in another

machine.
