Other users logged on Who and should I worry ??

Hi All,

 

Now I seem to be getting my problems fixed and I am very pleased, but there

is just ONE more thing hat has concerned me for a while now.

 

Sometimes, when I shutdown PC a box appears saying something like "There are

other users logged on at your pc...blah blah blah..."

 

I should be the only person logged on at my PC, so what does this mean,

should I worry ? Does this mean other people are accessing my private info ???

 

If anyone can advise me, I would appreciate it so much :-)

You should not keep private info on a shared computer. It is unrealistic

to expect it to be secure.

Next time you see this message, cancel the shutdown. Click Start | Log

Off | Switch User and see if another user appears (with programs

running)on your start screen. If so, and you don't recognize the name,

I'd say you should worry.

Use Truecrypt then it will be secure.Sounds like you are Botnet.

In response to you all....yes...now I am worried. My PC shouldn't be shared

by anyone. I use my PC and no-one else does.

 

I should be the oy person logged on and using my PC at any one time. Ho has

this happened ?

 

Can I ask,what is Botnet and why am I Botnet, and how can I NOT be Botnet

??? pleeeease :-)

 

And Bill, yes I will try what you suggest. And let you know what comes from

this.

 

YIKES I'm worried now, this message has been coming up for AGES !!! It seems

to appear mostly when my PC has been sat on standby for a while, and then I

shut down from standby screen.

 

And what is Truecrypt ? How do I get it and does it affect anything elseon

my system ?

So thats a BOTNET is it !!! I had a look. Any tips how to GET RID, FREE if

poss ?? Or would you recommend Norton like that article does ?? Thanks for

I currently use AVG Free edition, and Spyware Blaster (Free), and CCleaner,

Cacheman & Glary Utilities. Will they help much ?

 

I have also installed TRUECRYPT as reccommended above, but I havn't ran it

yet, as it looks a bit complicated for me, so I will need to read the info

before I start.
