kbgooner Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 i am trying to resurrect my sons desktop (not been used for 12 months as he now uses a laptop) which runs on Vista. the machine has been reset to factory settings but now wont install all the updates. when i switch the machine on it searches for updates and finds 42. when i try to install them, it gets to about number 39 (after about 30mins) then says it failed to install all the updates and needs to restart, after restart i get a prompt that tells me to go to a restore point (there arent any) or reset to factory settings (done). this is now just a continuing cycle. does anyone have any ideas how i can run the updates successfully? maynardvdm Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Hi What Service Pack is it on now? Try downloading SP3 and install that. Quote We are all members helping other members.
